dclxxvi. THE BEATLES: Revolution 1

dclxxvi. THE BEATLES

Revolution 1 (1968)
John, vocals, guitar
Paul, bass, keyboards, vocal
George, guitars, vocal
Ringo, drums, percussion
Freddy Clayton, trumpet
Derek Watkins, trumpet
Don Long, trombone
Rex Morris, trombone
J. Power, trombone
Bill Povey, trombone
(4:15)

from The Beatles

Twenty-two takes and an initial run time of 10:17! Originally, the final six minutes consisted of ad-libs, including Yoko's "you become naked," which of course eventually ended up on Revolution 9.

"Don't you know that you can count me out/in" became an issue for John, who was called a "millionaire revolutionary" by the left.

So there are three versions: Revolution 1, Revolution 9, and just plain old Revolution, a faster version of this track.
