xlvi. MINGUS, Charles: Meditations on Integration

xlvi. MINGUS, Charles (1922-1979)

Meditations on Integration (1964)
CM, bass
Eric Dolphy, alto saxophone, bass clarinet, flute
Clifford Jordan, tenor saxophone
Jaki Byard, piano
Dannie Richmond, drums
(22:34)

From The Great Concert of Charles Mingus.

Dolphy would be dead in two months, this being one of his last great recordings.

One of Mingus's greatest compositions, it features many different cells of different tempi, different combinations of instruments with lots of blowing space for everyone.
