At the age of 21, Mr. Collier had the amazing ability to fill his head with music and then pretty much instantly transform it into product.
The wonderful thing here is watching his multiple selves performing the whole thing.
A lot of post-bop 60s bands performed the song as a kind of joke -- the head was totally recognizable, and the soloists could really take off on the changes ...
Jacob's version is something else entirely.
