I'm sure John wished he had never ripped that off. It ended up costing him dearly.

A lawsuit ensued; John & Yoko had broken up; Lennon was using; and Phil Spector was producing.

A recipe for disaster and the album took a year to record and produce.

Ah -- it's only rock 'n' roll ...
