Bob hires the best cats in the business and they get to work. Here, he honors Basie with an original composition beautifully arranged, with fresh interesting soloing and nice punches written into the background.
Without Mintzer, we'd just have old recordings to listen to from the old masters ... luckily, Bob carefully took hold of their pens, taught himself how to compose and arrange, and continues the tradition of The Big Band.
There is no one better.
