Miles was unhappy with the original cover art.

"Why'd you put that white bitch on there?" he reportedly asked George Avakian. The second cover was subsequently used for reissues.

Gil Evans (who wrote this track) was the arranger and conductor for these sessions. The large ensemble gives Miles a perfect, slightly angular, background to solo with his mellow flugelhorn.

A classic.
