dxl. HANCOCK, Herbie (1940- )
from Monster
At the height of the Disco Era, Herbie made some terrific funk, complete with smooth vocals. His licks are not the high-wire rivers of technique from his days with Miles. They are simple, but appropriate.
Herbie always gave the public what it seemed to be into at the time -- but kept the originality of his basic vision intact.
This shit's funky as hell. Great album cover, too (Gahan Wilson) ...
